Troubadour - A Tribute To George Strait
To end off our Garrick Summer Series of 2023, we are welcoming back Bob MacDonald, Chris LeDrew, Sandy Morris, Scott Mansfield, and Brian Way to perform Troubadour - A Tribute to George Strait.
Jodee + Nicole
Nicole Hand and Jodee Richardson are established professional Newfoundland artists who now work as a composing/arranging/performing duo, both on their own and as part of larger projects. As Jodee + Nicole, the two have performed together frequently throughout their 15-month partnership, reimagining original songs and beloved covers for various concert series and festivals as well as making regular appearances at the Black Sheep and Sláinte in St. John’s. Their duo sound is a blend of their individual strengths and results in a variety of instrument combinations, drawing from acoustic guitar, saxophones, piano, vocals, melodica and omnichord. They have played to large theatres and intimate rooms with their set of well-known tunes of all genres, featuring original songs, stories and recitations inspired by Newfoundland culture and experiences. Aside from their independent careers, Jodee and Nicole have shared the stage as rock musicians over the years with collaborations between the Pathological Lovers/Fur Packed Action and members of saxophone band Ouroboros as recently as June 2023. The two also overlap in the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, where Nicole plays bassoon and Jodee is a frequent featured artist, and Perchance Theatre, where they both work on the creative design and performance teams throughout the summer season.
Fergus O'Byrne & Jim Payne
Two of Newfoundland’s most respected performers combine instrumental prowess and humorous repartee, to cover a broad spectrum of Newfoundland folk culture, including songs, stories and dance tunes. Their repertoire includes rousing sea shanties and work songs, poignant ballads, comic ditties, folk tales and recitations, and toe-tapping jigs, reels and polkas on a variety of instruments.

Taking On Water
The 2023 Tuckamore Festival is premiering a new work, Taking on Water, featuring actors Robert Chafe and Louise Moyse, alongside Tuckamore Festival Artistic Directors Nancy Dahn and Timothy Steeves. In the fall of 2021, playwright Robert Chafe set out on an interview tour of eastern Newfoundland, asking residents of coastal communities why they live where they live, and how they might see their future. The response revealed tales of unprecedented challenge, boundless optimism, and some things stranger than fiction. Taking on Water marries the music of Randolph Peters as played by Duo Concertante with five original magic realism stories by Chafe, that offer a new way to think about the love, risk, and resilience of living on the edge of a changing ocean. After the main festival from August 7-20, Taking on Water is going on tour, appearing at the Garrick on August 26!
Mallory Johnson & Band
Mallory Johnson is a 4x East Coast Music Award winner, CCMA nominated Artist and 2022 Semi-finalist for the prestigious SiriusXM Top of the Country competition. It’s no wonder that her recent debut album, Surprise Party soared to #2 on the iTunes country charts on its release in October and surpassed 100K streams in just 3 weeks.

Loder is the first place runner-up of City TV's Canada's Got Talent, where they triumphantly wowed audiences and judges with their outstanding mesmerizing performances. Included in their long list of accolades are 2022 ECMA nominations for Songwriter of the Year as well as Fan's Choice Entertainer of the Year. They were named the 2021 Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year at the Music NL Awards and received a 2021 ECMA Award for their ground breaking music video and compelling song, "Molded Like A Monster".

Derina Harvey leads the award-winning Celtic Rock sensation, the Derina Harvey Band (dHb). With a show that offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as a few originals, Derina’s vibrant personality takes center stage with humour, storytelling, and, of course, her world class vocals. dHb has been likened to a “rockier” version of Canada’s Great Big Sea , if fronted by Adele , and has earned a reputation as a high-energy live show that leaves many an audience out-of-breath and hollering from their seats!

Kelly-Ann Evans Band: The Music of Laurel Canyon
Back by popular demand! If you missed this show last year, now is your chance. Kelly-Ann and Band put off a beautiful show, incorporating the timeline of the Laurel Canyon Music Scene from the 60's and 70's. This included music from Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Mama's and Papas, and so much more. Don't miss out on this show this time!
Nico Paulo
Nico Paulo is a Portuguese/Canadian songwriter, performer, and visual artist. She moved to Canada in 2014 to pursue her career, originally setting down roots in the vibrant Toronto arts community, and eventually moved east to become an essential part of Newfoundland’s celebrated music scene. Paulo’s highly anticipated, self-titled debut LP, due for release in spring 2023.
Nico will be joined by Catherine Allan (Fortunate Ones) and Adam Hogan (formerly Hey Rosetta).
Tim Baker & All Hands
Canadian award winning songwriter and performer, Tim Baker will be playing here with his All Hands band on June 30th on our main stage. Tim Baker is a prolific wild-eyed dreamer. Best known as the writer and front man of Hey Rosetta!, a Juno-nomicated, Polaris-shortlisted, and multi award-winning band based in St. John's, Newfoundland. With over 15 years of performing their high-energy spectacle in stadiums, clubs, theatres and major festivals all over the world. Baker has since transitioned from being a songwriter and producer on his moniker.
Rev Dave and The Sin Eaters
"Rev Dave and the Sin Eaters is a country-blues band with driving rhythms and poetic lyrics. Cut from the same cloth as Ray Wylie Hubbard and John Lee.Hooker, the band owes equal debts to Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and John Prine."
Crooked Stovepipe with guest Craig Young and Andrea Monro
With this season being their 50th year as a band, we are pleased to welcome Crooked Stovepipe to our stage. Based in St. John's, Ted Rowe and Neil Rosenberg have been playing Bluegrass on the island since 1973. Alongside other band mates, Dave Rowe, Matt Hender and Carole Bestvater, this musical group will be have special guests Craig Young and Andrea Monro on stage with them as well. It will surely be a great night of beautiful music.

These terms best describe Newman Sound Men's Choir. Founded in 2005, Newman Sound is named after a rugged yet scenic region in Terra Nova National Park, Newfoundland and Labrador. Currently under the leadership of Artistic Director, Jennifer Hart, the choir has realized an ever-growing loyal audience and a high local, national and international reputation having established an exciting and eclectic repertoire across the genres of classical, pop and folk, including some outstanding arrangements and original compositions by several singers within the choir.
Newman Sound is more than just a group of guys who love to sing! A true community choir of more than thirty dedicated singers, choir members come from every age and walk of life, bringing with them a wealth of experiences and perspectives but most importantly, a love of making music together.
